A resident of Fresno, California has become the latest multi-millionaire after winning the lottery.
26 year-old Evan Johnson is the lucky winner of the $17 million Mega Millions jackpot. The winning ticket was purchased at a grocery store on the outskirts of Fresno.
When Johnson checked his numbers he couldn’t believe that he had won the top prize. “I was in complete shock,” he said.
“I just kept looking at the ticket over and over again and shaking my head.” Johnson plans to use the money to pay off bills and take his family on a vacation.
He also plans to invest the money to ensure a stable future for his family. This is the third time in four months that a California resident has won a major lottery jackpot.
The state lottery commission is encouraging everyone to play responsibly and always check their numbers.
