A big winning $500,000 lottery ticket is sold out in Rockford area

A local lottery player landed themselves a pay day to the tune of $500,000. Schnucks in Roscoe sold the winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket.
The retailer is located at 4860 Hononegah Road. The winner has one year from the date of the winning draw to claim their cash prize.
More than 20,000 winning tickets were sold for the Lucky Day Lotto Monday evening drawing, which amounts to nearly $550,000 for the lottery players, according to a news release from the Illinois Lottery.
Lucky Day Lotto is an Illinois-only game with twice daily drawings. Tickets for the game can be purchased in-store, online, or on the Illinois Lottery app.
The same Schnucks previously sold a $250,000 winning scratch-off ticket in January 2023.
