Lucky $5.1 million winning lottery ticket is sold out in Maryland

The first player to hit a Maryland Lottery Multi-Match jackpot this year hit it big.

The historic $5.1 million-winning ticket for Monday's drawing was sold at Hampstead Liquors on Hanover Pike in Hampstead, Carroll County.

The retailer will receive a $5,100 bonus for selling the winning ticket. The winner can choose between the estimated annuity of $5.1 million paid in 25 equal installments or an estimated $3.75 million cash option (before taxes).

The winning numbers were 6, 10, 12, 22, 28 and 38. The drawing also had 49 tickets matching five out of six numbers for prizes of $1,000, and one ticket matched 10 of 18 numbers on multiple lines for a $2,000 prize.

The winner has only 180 days from the day of the lottery draw to claim the winning prize money, lottery officials said.
