$1.3M Jersey Cash 5 Ticket Still Unclaimed—Check Your Drawers!

$1.3 Million Jersey Cash 5 Jackpot Still Up for Grabs in New Jersey
Check those drawers and desk piles—there’s a $1.3 million lottery ticket that could be sitting right under your nose. The New Jersey Lottery revealed Thursday, Oct. 2, that a Jersey Cash 5 jackpot-winning ticket from Nov. 25, 2024, remains unclaimed and is fast approaching its expiration date.
The winning ticket, worth $1,300,245, was purchased at the Wawa on Route 9 in Freehold, Monmouth County. Players have just under a month to claim it before it officially expires, as all New Jersey draw-game tickets are valid for one year from their winning date.
“Players really should check their tickets,” said James Carey, New Jersey Lottery Executive Director. “We’ve seen people come in months later, thinking they missed out, only to discover a winning ticket tucked away at home.”
This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. Back in May, a player found a four-month-old Mega Millions ticket worth $1 million hidden in a drawer at home. “I just opened the drawer and saw the tickets. I decided to get them checked,” the winner said.
Two other tickets are also nearing expiration: a $150,000 Jersey Cash 5 ticket sold at White Oak Liquors in Belleville on Nov. 1 and a $50,000 Powerball ticket from Stew Leonard's in Paramus on Nov. 23.
Lottery fans in New Jersey—now’s the time to double-check those drawers, wallets, and old receipts. One lucky ticket could turn a regular day into a life-changing payday.
